KERALA FLOODS - 2018, ONE OF THE MOST DEVASTATING - A HELPING HAND FROM THIRD EYE, CALICUT

KERALA FLOODS - 2018

Kerala had experience one of the most devastating which had left thousands of families in misery and suffering in the state, which longed for more than 2 weeks continuously. Many people lost their kin and a large majority lost their life time belongings completely. 

Third eye Helping Hand - We had selected Wayanad dist since, it was the one of the most hit area in the State.

Phase -1

We had made a packet per family provision kits consists of 13 essential items, Sleeping mat, Bedsheet, (all new and fresh) and Sari, Churidar, Dresses & shirts (both new & used-good ones) and distributed to 75 families in Madakkunnu area in Vengapally Panchayat in Wayanad Dist. (One of the worst hit districts in Kerala). We had planned to deliver at Sungadagiri area, but we find that this present area is more needy and given the priority. The list of the beneficiaries are given as attachments. These families had to move out from the camp schools due to re-opening and we had arranged a temporary shelter at Madakkunnu Kurichyar's colony due to their mercy.

Our work at Wayanad was lead by Third Eye's Executive Committee member Smt.Rajani.K.M. and her sincere team. This programme has also got a great support and encouragement from Sri.N.D. Appachan, Ex.MLA  and he personally attended to our endeavour on this day. We are very much thankful to him. The families were very happy.  

Sri.Maheswaran from Sathyamangalam also collected some sarees and extended his help to us. We place on record our gratitude towards him. He had collected some 100 sarees for us.

Phase -2

Now, we could identify some 102 families in Sugandagiri Area. One cannot imagine the real feelings of those who had lost everything in their life and left with only their damaged clothes.

Phase -3

We have distributed to 103 families,  3rd time at Wayanad, one of the most and First Flood Affected Districts of Kerala

We have (today-08/09/2018) distributed to 103 families residing at Arambatta kunnu area situated between Kottathara & Padinjarethara Panchayat. This time we have included the following 16 items in our distribution kit. (One kit per family)

1. Sugar 

2. Tea powder 

3. Turmeric powder 

4. Chilly powder 

5. Salt

6. Rava 

7. Vanpayar 

8. Wash soap 

9. Bath soap 

10. Dish wash 

11. Oil 

12. Pohah 

13. Potato 

14. Onion 

15. Biscuits 

16. Dress materials for kids and adults 

As usual Smt.Rajani KM, EC member of Third Eye co-ordinated this programme. The mission was accompanied by Ex.Block Panchayat President Smt.Sankunthala Shamugam & Ex MALA Sri.ND Appachan.

It was well received by the families and victims of the devastated flood. 103 kits have been distributed to the most deserving families.

We once again express our gratitude to one and all who have supported us with their humble but great contributions on time. Without your great prop, this could not have materialised like this at the most appropriate time of need.
